Perry County Released Mugshot Records
A booking photo records appearance at a particular custody event. It is not a finding of guilt, proof of a later conviction, or proof of current custody. Release does not by itself erase the image. The related Perry County jail-docket entry supplies the disposition that a photo alone lacks, including how the person was released or discharged and the authority or receipt connected to the event.
Mississippi Code § 45-27-9 requires designated law-enforcement photographs when equipment is available and allows a "Photo Available" notation. A commercial or news copy should never be treated as the authoritative release record. It may be stale, detached from the final case outcome, or copied from a different agency. No commercial gallery or removal service is linked or endorsed.
Perry County Has No Photo Gallery
The Perry County Sheriff's Department page names Sheriff Jacob Garner and publishes department contact information, not a booking-photo service. Research found no official current roster, recent-release view, mugshot gallery, photo policy, mobile app, request form, or routine social release stream. Those are meaningful limits. They are not proof that no photo exists in an internal booking or inmate file.
Do not replace the absent official source with a current roster from another county or a commercial compilation. The county record should be requested from Perry. If a future official app or gallery is added, its agency ownership, date, custody scope, and retention behavior must be checked before relying on it. A photo shown during a booking period may disappear from a live interface while the underlying government record remains.
The same caution applies to a recent release. The Perry County same-day release route uses the jail docket because no official photo-backed release feed was verified.

- Identify the person by full name, aliases, and date of birth if known.
- Add the booking number, arrest or admission date, and a reasonable date range.
- Request the booking photograph separately from the complete public jail-docket entry.
- Ask for an electronic copy and an advance estimate of lawful search, review, duplication, and delivery costs.
- Request redaction of exempt material and release of the nonexempt image or record remainder.
- If access is denied, ask for a written denial that cites the exact exemption.
The Mississippi Public Records Act governs access and allows charges no greater than actual costs. When no agency procedure controls, the statutory default is one working day. An agency procedure may allow up to seven working days, or a specific written explanation and production within fourteen working days absent an agreement. These periods govern response and production duties; they do not promise that a releasable Perry County photograph exists.
Ask for the jail-docket disposition with the image. A booking photo establishes identity at booking, while the docket can distinguish bond, discharge, or transfer.

For any copied image, record the displayed source, capture date, booking date, and claimed agency. Compare the face only after matching name, date of birth, booking number, offense, and jurisdiction. Then obtain the official disposition. An image without that chain should be described only as an unverified copy.
Perry County Mugshot Expungement
Expungement is a court-ordered process that can remove or restrict records within the order's legal scope. Release alone does not expunge a booking, photo, or docket. Perry County's Circuit Clerk states that completed nonadjudicated probation and some qualifying felony matters may support a petition. Mississippi law also provides paths in specified cases involving release with dismissal, dropped charges, no disposition, or acquittal. Eligibility depends on the facts and current law.
An order must be read closely. Mississippi's retention schedule directs destruction of the law-enforcement expungement series as the court order requires, and § 45-27-9 directs the Criminal Information Center to purge after a lawful expunction. A certified order and identifying arrest data may be needed to correct official repositories. Independent publishers and federal records raise separate issues that an order may or may not reach.
No enacted Mississippi anti-pay-to-remove law was identified in the research. That finding does not show that a publisher may lawfully ignore an expungement order, and it does not mean a commercial service can guarantee removal. Do not pay or rely on a removal claim without confirming the official record and the order's scope.
For a Perry record, begin with the Perry County Circuit Clerk and the court that entered the order. A registry result can support identity or current registration information within that system, but it does not prove the precise jail-release date or reason. Use the official record's current fields and contact the registry for a correction.
